It has been drawn to our attention that a company trading as either Construct Data Verlag, operating from Austria or, most recently, Expo-Guide, operating from Mexico, are using LAMMA Show exhibitors lists to contact Show exhibitors touting for entries in an on-line directory which many of those so far contacted believe gives the impression that it is both free of charge and backed by LAMMA. This is most certainly not the case.
The form sent to the exhibitor is made to look as though it is an organiser’s free listing service. If this form is completed and returned a bill for over 950 euros (£650) quickly follows. We would therefore like to warn exhibitors not to become involved with this company since their product is of no value and that the tactics used in an attempt to extract this money are particularly intimidating.
As far as LAMMA Show publicity is concerned our media partners are Farmers’ Guardian, but a number of other UK based publications run features prior to the Show and we do support some of them with our own advertising. It is, however, entirely the choice of exhibitors how much they spend and where they place any advertisements.
As far as ‘on-line’ media is concerned we publish the list of exhibitors for the LAMMA Show on this website, because we believe it provides Show visitors with a source of information and contacts long after the Show. Unfortunately it does give unscrupulous directory operators a ready-made contact list.
The problem with the above company, under whichever name it is trading at the time, is European wide and so, in common with other Show organisers in Europe, we feel it is appropriate to offer our exhibitors this warning.
